Meet the Groner's

Rabbi Chaim and Raizel Groner moved to Elk Grove and founded Chabad of Elk Grove in 2022.
Rabbi Chaim was born and raised in the vibrant and friendly Jewish community of Melbourne, Australia, where his parents run a Chabad outreach center. Bringing the love of Judaism to others from such a young age profoundly affected his life goals and his vision for the future.
Rabbi Chaim studied in Yeshivas across the globe, from Los Angeles, CA to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and ultimately received his Rabbinical ordination from the Rabbinical Smicha Center in Manhattan, NY in 2019. During his Yeshiva years, Rabbi Chaim visited many cities in the U.S and Europe to help run educational events, holiday programs and summer camps for Jewish families from all walks of life.
Raizel was born and raised right here in Sacramento, CA, where her parents run Chabad of greater Sacramento. She completed high school in NY, before continuing her Jewish studies in Melbourne, Australia. After completing her formal Jewish education, Raizel received her Bachelors in Education while teaching in Brooklyn.
Raizel has extensive experience in Jewish outreach and education. For 8 years running, she has directed CGI Sacramento, a summer day camp for Jewish children, and spent 3 years as Director of Programming at Chabad of Sacramento. Raizel is passionate about Jewish life and education, and over the years has perfected the art of making sourdough Challah. Reach out if you’d like to try one!
Rabbi Chaim and Raizel are the proud parents of their two sons, Eliyahu and Dovid.
